Why Stay at Staycity Aparthotels Frankfurt Airport in Frankfurt
This property fills an important niche that many travelers overlook: a quiet place with easy access from the airport, sleep well, access Frankfurt easily, and avoid the chaos of the terminals without being far away. As an added bonus, you can cook your own meals. We personally prefer to find lodging with a kitchen available, so we don’t have to go out for each meal. This certainly makes managing food allergies much easier.
The aparthotel works especially well for:
- Multi-night business trips
- Families who need more space
- Travelers on extended layovers
- Remote workers needing quiet and privacy
- Airport transit passengers who want to avoid eating out every meal
The hotel is modern, quiet, and thoughtfully designed for extended stays—even though the furnishings and layout are minimalist rather than stylish.

Location Near Frankfurt Airport & Easy Transport Access
Staycity Aparthotels Frankfurt Airport is located in the Gateway Gardens district of Frankfurt, just a short distance from the airport.
The hotel’s shuttle service is coming to an end December 31, 2025. While that’s unfortunate, there are plenty of other options for getting from the airport to the hotel (and vice versa).
| Train | Follow signs for Regional Trains at the airport. Take the S-Bahn (normally the S8 or S9 lines) 1 stop from the airport to Gateway Gardens station. The station is a short walk from the hotel. |
| Taxi or rideshare (or by car) | Taxis and ride shares are readily available at the airport. Roughly 10 minutes from the airport. Paid parking is available. |
| Walk | 1.8 km from terminal 1 (25-30 minutes). |
This is one of the very few airport hotels where you can skip taxis entirely and reach the city in minutes using public transportation.

Studios & One-Bedrooms With Kitchenettes
The aparthotel offers self-contained studios and 1-bedroom units, ideal for longer stays or travelers who prefer a home-like setup. Each room includes:
- Stove, microwave, toaster, cookware, small fridge, and a dishwasher,
- Coffee, tea, and milk provided at no charge,
- A small dining or workspace area,
- Modern bathrooms and comfortable beds.

The kitchenettes are compact, with very limited counter space, so meals need to be simple. The setup is fully functional for:
- Light cooking,
- Heating airport or grocery meals,
- Making pasta, salads, soups, sandwiches, or other simple meals,
- Preparing breakfast before an early flight.
A small upgrade would make a big difference—stocking salt and pepper and a few basic kitchen staples. Still, being able to cook near Frankfurt Airport is a major convenience, especially during long layovers, business stays, or remote work periods.

Restaurants and a Grocery Store Next Door
One advantage of choosing Staycity Aparthotels Frankfurt Airport in Frankfurt is its direct proximity to a full Rewe supermarket and numerous restaurants.
Important Sunday tip: Rewe is closed Sundays (as is typical in Germany). If you arrive Sunday and need groceries, pick them up at the airport Rewe before taking the S-Bahn to the hotel.
Dining options include:
- A small hotel bar and optional breakfast service
- Restaurants next door, including Asia Moon and the italian Frankfurt
- Access to Frankfurt’s extensive dining scene via Gateway Gardens
This combination—kitchen + grocery + easy transit—is what sets Staycity apart from other Frankfurt Airport hotels.

Amenities at Staycity Aparthotels Frankfurt Airport in Frankfurt
While the hotel is understated in style, the amenities make longer stays comfortable:

- Small but functional fitness center,
- Laundry room, great for long-haul travel,
- Quiet rooms with minimal airport noise,
- Professional, helpful, and friendly staff,
- Flexible room layouts for working or relaxing.
This is not a “high-amenity luxury hotel,” but everything offered is practical, modern, and thoughtfully designed for self-sufficient stays.

Cleanliness, Quiet, and Comfort
Across all three of our stays, rooms have been consistently:
- Very clean;
- Quiet;
- Well-maintained;
- Comfortable for working remotely or recovering from jetlag.
The Gateway Gardens setting keeps the atmosphere calm, and it’s noticeably quieter than many hotels inside the terminals or along major airport roads.
Customer service has been reliable and professional, and check-in/out has always been smooth, even at unusual hours.
Note that there are no security latches on the doors to the rooms. While we haven't had any issues during 3 stays, it would certainly add peace of mind to have these installed.
