Pro Tip: There has historically been a ferris wheel by the bay at Christmas-time. Unfortunately, this is not set up so far for 2025, and it is unclear what the plans are for future years.

Pro Tip: The family pack admission tickets can be a great value for larger families. When planning your visit and costs, keep in mind that the ice skating rink is an extra cost (beyond the ticket price). Food purchased in the Vila Natal is also quite expensive.

How to Get to Cascais for the Christmas Market

By Train from Lisbon

  • Depart Cais do Sodré
  • Take the Cascais Line
  • Scenic 30–40 minute ride along the river and coastline
  • One way fare from Lisbon to Cascais costs €2.45 adults/€1.25 children in 2025

You’ll arrive just steps from the Baía area market and a short walk from Jardim Visconde da Luz. Vila de Natal is about 10–15 minutes on foot.

Pro Tip: If you are interested in visiting Cascais' many museums, check out the Cascais museum quarter partnership, which offers you access to some of Cascais' best hidden gems (includes 16 museums and parks), along with train tickets to and from Lisbon. In 2025, tickets are 10 Euros (up to 24 hours).

By Car

There is paid parking near the Cascais Marina and near the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo. It can be very challenging to find spots on the weekend. The train is usually easier and more scenic.

  • Weekends (and the whole week leading up to Christmas) can be very crowded. Plan to visit weekdays for a calmer experience;
