What is GPSmyCity?
GPSmyCity is a mobile app that provides interactive, self-guided city tours, adapted from our blog posts. You no longer need to take notes or create your own itinerary lists to reference as you’re exploring. Simply use the app on your phone, where you’ll have access to::
- 📍 GPS navigation and offline maps – no Wi-Fi or data roaming needed
- 🚶♀️ Turn-by-turn walking routes
- ✨ Customizable tours and saved locations
- 📖 Full travel articles – just like what you read here on my blog
Available for both iOS and Android, it’s like having a personal guide in your pocket, that doesn’t need cell service and works anywhere.

My Travel Articles Now Available as Apps
I’m so excited to announce that 10 of my most popular blog posts are now live as downloadable apps on GPSmyCity! We’ll be adding more guides in the future. You can carry these guides with you and use them as your own personal tour tool – perfect for city breaks, day trips, and off-the-beaten-path exploring. Find all of our GPSmyCity guides.

How GPSmyCity Works
One of the best parts about GPSmyCity is how flexible it is. You can use the app in two ways:
- Free Download: Every travel article on 1500+ destinations (including mine!) can be read for free within the app. You’ll have access to all the content, just like on the blog. Be sure to download while you’re on wi-fi, so that they’re available offline when you’re traveling.
- Upgrade to Full GPS-Guided Version: If you’d like to use the built-in GPS navigation and offline maps, you can upgrade an article for a small one-time fee (usually just a few dollars). Once you upgrade, the guide is yours to keep forever – no subscriptions, no recurring charges.
- Annual Membership Option: For frequent travelers, GPSmyCity offers an annual membership. For a flat rate, you get unlimited access to all guides on the app (not just mine!). This is a great option if you’re planning multiple trips and want to explore with GPS-enabled guides wherever you go.
The choice is yours – stick with the free articles, upgrade guides one by one, or go all-in with the membership if you find yourself using GPSmyCity a lot.
