When is Peak Wildflower Season in Crested Butte?

Crested Butte’s wildflower season typically runs from late June through early August, though the timing of peak blooms depends on both elevation and snowmelt/moisture. As a general guideline:

  • Late June – Early July: find colorful blooms at lower elevations.
  • Mid-July: typically peak wildflower season and also when the takes place.
  • Late July to Early August: explore high elevations to see late blooming species.

If your goal is to catch the wildflowers at their most vibrant, the best time to visit is mid-July, aligning your visit with the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival.
